Our crown chakra is our seventh chakra and is responsible for our connection to spirituality, our wisdom and our direct connection to the divine. Often times you will see the crown chakra as creating a halo around the head of a person who is connected to the divine. Paintings of angels, religious icons and saviors often depict a white halo around their head, and this is said to represent our crown chakra.

On the top of our head.

Our crown chakra is our connection to the divine. This is the hardest chakra to find true balance and fluidity with, because it requires us to release our ego, our connection to material possessions and those we love. Many people struggle with maintaining this chakra- and it is not common for some to never reach true balance and harmony in their crown chakra.

The crown chakra is our direct connection to the Divine, which is going to give us powerful intuition, wisdom, joy and psychic abilities. This chakra isn't more important than any other chakra in our body- simply because all of the chakra's must be in balance in order for the energy to be flowing through our crown chakra.

When the crown chakra is out of balance, we can notice some severe behavioral issues that can be alarming and to be honest, are pretty prevalent in our culture today.  When our crown chakra is overactive, we are needy. We are going to be begging the Divine to be connecting to us, and acting almost like an addict begging for another hit. People with an overactive crown chakra will be addicted to spirit- looking for spirit in places where there are none, screaming how amazing they are from the mountain tops and needing to be popular. When our crown chakra is overactive, we become obsessed with outlets such as social media, the need to have followers, popularity or attention. But behind these actions are serious mental health concerns such as depression, suicide and anxiety.  The viscous part about this chakra, is when it is overactive, it creates a cycle that takes a large wake up call to break- and unfortunately many don't receive the wake up call they need.

When this chakra is under active- the polar opposite is true.  We might feel misunderstood- like nobody gets us, we are lost or we don't belong here. When our crown chakra is under active, we will deny ourselves a spiritual connection, and will struggle with having fun with activities that we might otherwise love! We will have a severe loss of faith, and deny ourselves any signs or messages we will be receiving from the Divine, spirits or angels. And exactly as when this chakra is overactive, we will have severe mental diseases, such as depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.

So what good comes from this chakra? Oh, everything!!

This chakra gives us the connection to the Divine. When we release our material possessions, connections and ego, we can create this flow of energy from the Divine that is phenomenal. When this chakra is flowing as it should be, we will experience the most amazing feelings, joys and peace we can imagine. When we open ourselves up to healing, messages and love- with our egos discarded, we will truly understand how God, the Divine, Allah, Buddha etc loves us and provides for us.

The main concept behind our crown chakra is understanding that we are all in the same, releasing our egos and gaining complete control of our thoughts, actions and an understanding of the collective consciousness.

Like I have mentioned prior, when this chakra is in balance, we have a direct connection to the Divine- but what do I mean by this?

The Divine energy is the energy of the creator. This chakra is an understanding that the collective consciousness is all the same- even though we are all different, we are the same. No matter our ethnicity, culture, religion or sex, we are all the same- we are equal and we are dark and light.  When we release the egos and let this consciousness flow freely from us, we will understand and receive messages from the Divine.

The Divine communicates to us through Angels, loved ones, symbols, animals, music- just about everything. When we are receptive to this and free of ego, we will receive these messages with an open mind and an open heart.

Our crown chakra is directly related to the flow of energy within our selves, and therefore requires us to have the six main chakras in balance in order to truly have the free flow of energy from our crown chakra.

You can not will this chakra into balance, you can not meditate every night and listen to 936hz and focus just on this chakra- and balance it out.

Balancing your crown chakra is hard. It requires dedication, releasing our egos, our possessions and our loved ones from us. But the secret is simple- just because you release them, doesn't mean they will be taken from you.

It's letting go of what we love, with blind faith in the Divine that it will still be there when we open our eyes.  The crown chakra is the hardest chakra to balance, because it takes a conscious effort to remain in balance. We have to release energies that aren't serving us, and release all Earthly attachments from ourselves. Truly let go of everything, releasing our ego and allowing the Divine energy to comfort us, guide us and love us.

"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13 So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father[a] who sent me. 17 In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. 18 I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.” 19 They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”"

John 12-19

Finding balance in our crown chakra is simple. Release the ego, release the material possessions and understanding the genuine message of love, kindness, virtue and judgement.

I suggest meditating every night as you are laying in bed to fall asleep. Put in some headphones, find a guided meditation you enjoy and drift off to sleep to the meditation. Often times you will not only find a better nights sleep, but you will receive messages from spirit in your dreams, find some inner peace and balance too!

While we are meditating, ask for guidance on what you need to release from our lives, what we need to forgive and welcome into our lives at this time.

Ask for the lessons you need to learn to find enlightenment, what obstacles are put in your path to make you wiser, stronger and kinder. Meditate, pray, do what resonates for you- but more importantly, DO what spirit tells you to do. If they tell you to forgive, you forgive. Etc.

The best way to meditate with our crown chakra in mind is to focus on our six lower chakras. Focus on keeping them in balance, healthy and the energy flowing peacefully from one chakra to the next. Focus on forgiving, releasing energies from you and spreading kindness as needed.

There are meditations you can do to periodically balance out your chakra's and help you find temporary balance- but know that they will need to be repeated often until your underlying issues are addressed, and aren’t a permanent fix. Definitely a good option, but they are mostly treating the symptom, not the cause of the troubles.

Deep emotional healing is needed for almost every soul on this Earth. Very few of us are capable of truly setting our egos aside and healing ourselves truthfully- there is no shame in asking for help with healing our souls.

I personally seek out help from others about twice a year to be sure I am self healing in a way that isn't stroking my ego- but instead truly healing. When I self heal, I am trying to meditate daily, receive messages from spirit to help my soul heal and stay healthy- all while remaining down to Earth, grounded and realistic.

Does this mean I never have imbalances?? Absolutely not! We all go through feelings of depression, anxiety, rage and pain- but what makes us stronger, powerful and harmonious is addressing these feelings, reaching out for help when we need to and dealing with the root causes of these feelings, instead of hiding from the real causes.

Self care is huge- for all of our chakra health, not just our crown chakra. Almost everything I do is for my soul star chakra, and I allow that energy to flow freely down and help cleanse, heal and mend any imbalances, pains or wounds my other chakra's maybe experiencing.

Epsom Salt Baths are a godsend. Seriously. I thoroughly enjoy my soaks in the tub with these bath salts (I like the Himalayan Pink Salt Epsom Salts the best), mixed with my favorite essential oils and some candle light.

A nice walk in the park or nature, a good cup of coffee while you sit and enjoy it, or spending time with your pets are all great ways to help treat yourself, it's just important that you are taking time for yourself periodically to help yourself find true happiness.

The most important key to having a balanced crown chakra is taking care of your entire body, psychical, emotional and spiritual- all while leaving the ego behind.
